Saudi Arabia has introduced a series of digital services on its Absher platform, aiming to improve convenience for both citizens and expatriates.
These updates, launched by the Directorate of Passports chief Maj. Gen. Saleh Al Murabba, are designed to streamline government procedures and enhance service efficiency.
Among the newly added features, users can now upload photos of dependents for passport issuance or renewal, update passport information for foreign residents, and access a digital identity. The digital identity feature allows expatriates to view and present their identification when required by authorities.
Additional services cater to Saudi citizens, including options to renew or replace a lost or damaged national ID card directly through the app. Users can also update their educational qualifications registered with the Ministry of Education by submitting relevant documents via Absher.
The Directorate of Civil Affairs has advised users to log into their Absher accounts through the app or website to access the latest features and review requirements.
Launched in 2013 by the Saudi Interior Ministry, Absher continues to expand its digital offerings, aiming to reduce paperwork, improve accessibility, and enhance the overall experience for residents and citizens.
