Here’s When PIA Will Actually Start UK Flights

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is preparing to restart flight operations to the United Kingdom, but the final decision depends on British authorities’ approval.

Talking to ProPakistani, a PIA spokesperson said the resumption of flights relies on permission from the UK government, which is expected in mid-March. He added that if approval is granted, operations could resume within 10 to 15 days.

However, he clarified that an exact date cannot be confirmed until permission is secured. Earlier, 24NewsHD TV reported that PIA had announced plans to resume flights to the UK from March 28, 2025.

According to details, a meeting of Britain’s Department of Transport Safety is scheduled for March 15, 2025, where the final decision regarding lifting PIA’s ban will be made.

PIA officials have stated that flights will commence only after the British government’s approval. Sources indicate that PIA plans to restart operations in phases.

In the first phase, flights will be operated between Islamabad and Manchester. Later, in the second phase, the airline intends to expand services from Lahore and Islamabad to London.

Additionally, PIA has already issued tenders for ground handling, catering, and crew hotel stays in the UK, signaling its preparations for a potential return.
