Islamabad Police Blocks Traffic on Srinagar Highway

Authorities have closed the Srinagar Highway from Zero Point to Serena Hotel in both directions due to “the prevailing law and order situation,” according to an advisory issued by the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP). The highway will remain inaccessible until further notice.

While most entry and exit points to the Red Zone remain open, access via Serena Suharwardi Road is restricted, the advisory confirmed.

To manage traffic, commuters from Faizabad have been directed to use Jinnah Avenue, while those heading towards Aabpara and the Red Zone should take the Faizabad Loop and use the Jinnah Avenue Underpass to reach Margalla Road.

Travelers from Bara Kahu have been advised to use Club Road, Faizabad, and Express Highway, while those heading to Bara Kahu from Aabpara should take Shakarparian Road.

Traffic delays are expected along Srinagar Highway due to special route implementation, as reported by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP). Chief Traffic Officer Zeeshan Haider urged commuters to use underpasses and service roads for smoother travel, assuring that ITP personnel would be deployed across the city to assist drivers.
