Govt Announces Ramadan Office Timings

The federal government has officially announced the working hours for public sector offices during the holy month of Ramadan.

The revised timings aim to facilitate employees in observing the month while maintaining efficient work operations.

Office Timings for 5-Day Work Week

Government offices operating on a five-day work week will follow these schedules:

  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Friday: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Office Timings for 6-Day Work Week

For offices that function six days a week, the timings will be as follows:

  • Monday to Thursday & Saturday: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Friday: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM

The adjustments align with the government’s commitment to ensuring a balance between professional responsibilities and religious observances. These reduced working hours allow employees to fulfill their spiritual obligations, including fasting and prayers, while continuing their official duties efficiently.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a sacred time for Muslims worldwide. Many countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and others, implement reduced working hours to support their workforce during this period.

The government encourages public servants to utilize these timings effectively, ensuring smooth administrative operations while accommodating the special significance of Ramadan.
