Matric Exams in Rawalpindi District Face Delay Due to Severe Staff Shortage

The allocation of examination staff and centre-in-charge for the annual matriculation exams, set to begin on March 4 in the Rawalpindi Division, has become increasingly challenging due to a shortage of teachers and a lack of cooperation from school heads and educators.

This ongoing issue has raised serious concerns about the smooth conduct of matriculation and intermediate exams across Punjab, including Rawalpindi. The persistent reluctance of teachers to take on examination duties has forced all nine education boards in the province to request urgent intervention from the Punjab Ministry of Education.

In response, the Ministry has issued strict directives to all 43 district education authorities, district education officers, and school heads across Punjab. The directive, signed by Section Officer Ahmed Bilal Khan, orders the immediate assignment of teachers to examination duties, with a 24-hour deadline for compliance.

Additionally, the order suspends any ongoing government responsibilities for teachers assigned to examination duties and mandates the immediate appointment of marking teachers for matriculation and intermediate exams to prevent further disruptions.
