Pakistan Railways Announces Ramadan Timings

Pakistan Railways has announced updated working hours for reservation offices nationwide during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to a notification issued on Friday, the morning shift will run from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while the evening shift will be from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

On Fridays, there will be a break for Juma prayers from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM.

Reservation offices operating on a single shift will maintain their existing working hours.

These revised timings will remain in place until the 15th of Ramadan, after which all offices will revert to their regular schedules. This adjustment aims to accommodate passengers and staff during the fasting month while ensuring smooth operations.

Pakistan Railways Suspends Sir Syed Express, Resumes Shah Hussain Express

Separately, Pakistan Railways has suspended the Sir Syed Express after the private company managing the train discontinued its operations due to financial constraints, ARY News reported. The train, which ran between Karachi and Rawalpindi, was outsourced to the private sector.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways has resumed the Shah Hussain Express service between Karachi and Lahore, providing much-needed relief to travelers.

The train departed from Karachi Cantonment Station at 7:30 PM and was scheduled to reach Lahore at 2:15 PM, making stops at key cities such as Hyderabad, Rohri, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Khanewal, and Faisalabad.

For the return journey, the train will leave Lahore at 7:00 PM and arrive in Karachi at 2:05 PM.

The Shah Hussain Express comprises 10 economy-class coaches, 2 AC business-class coaches, 2 AC standard-class coaches, a power plant, and a brake van.
