The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is making arrangements to organize a national team training camp in Al Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, ahead of their crucial AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifying match against Syria on March 25.
The PFF’s Normalization Committee (NC) is actively working to secure the necessary funds from the AFC and FIFA to ensure the camp’s successful execution. The camp is expected to provide the national team with adequate preparation time and facilities to gear up for the high-stakes encounter.
The Pakistan football team has been placed in Group E of the qualifiers, alongside Syria, Afghanistan, and Myanmar, with matches scheduled to be played on a home-and-away basis. The match against Syria will mark Pakistan’s first step in their campaign to qualify for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
The PFF’s decision to hold the camp in Saudi Arabia is seen as a strategic move, given the availability of world-class facilities and the proximity to Syria, which will help the team acclimatize to similar conditions. The camp will also allow the coaching staff to assess the players’ fitness and form while implementing tactical strategies for the upcoming match.
Speaking on the matter, a PFF official expressed optimism about securing financial support from AFC and FIFA, stating, “We are hopeful that the funds will be approved soon, as this camp is crucial for the team’s preparation. The players need proper training and exposure to compete at this level.”
The match against Syria on March 25 will be a litmus test for Pakistan’s readiness and determination to compete on the Asian stage.
