The International Monetary Fund (IMF) review mission under Nathan Porter’s leadership will have discussions with the Ministry of Energy today as talks heat up for releasing the second tranche of the $7 billion loan program, prominent sources told ProPakistani.
The talks will focus on power sector reforms, electricity and gas tariffs, and other related issues.
The IMF delegation will also meet with officials from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) and other key institutions. On the third day of discussions, meetings are scheduled with various ministries, including the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
The mission will assess the progress made under the loan program, with technical discussions reviewing institutional performance and progress reports. Talks are scheduled with both the Power and Petroleum divisions of the Ministry of Energy.
