More Rain Expected in Multiple Areas Around Pakistan

The Meteorological Department has forecast another spell of rain next week in parts of Punjab, Islamabad, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to officials, a new weather system is set to enter the country on March 10, bringing two to three spells of rain between March 11 and 21, with intervals in between. Lahore is expected to receive rainfall from March 9 to March 11.

The department also warned of the possibility of rain, snowfall, and hailstorms accompanied by strong winds during this period. Experts said these post-winter spring rains, often linked to Western Disturbance (WD) systems, can be intense and may cause damage due to high winds and hail.

Meanwhile, Karachi will experience rising temperatures, with the mercury expected to reach 38°C over the weekend. The humidity level is predicted to stay between 15% and 25%.

Despite the increasing heat, meteorologists have ruled out the possibility of a heatwave. Experts explain that heatwaves occur when sea breezes are suspended for an extended period, humidity levels rise significantly, and temperatures exceed 40°C—conditions not currently expected under the prevailing weather pattern.
