LESCO to Provide Energy Saving Fans to Reduce Electricity Bills

Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) is introducing inverter fans to help reduce electricity consumption. The company plans to replace 80 million conventional fans with energy-efficient inverter technology.

According to reports, LESCO has submitted a draft agreement to its Board of Directors (BoD) for approval. Once approved, an agreement will be signed with the National Energy Conservation Authority (NECA) to begin distributing the fans to consumers.

Consumers can purchase these inverter fans, which are expected to significantly lower electricity usage. Government officials have also requested LESCO’s electricity bill records from the past three years to analyze energy consumption trends before implementation.

The initiative is expected to save approximately 5,000 megawatts of electricity annually, easing the burden on the national power grid. Traditional fans consume more energy due to outdated motor designs, while inverter fans offer improved efficiency.

To make the transition more accessible, the government plans to provide these fans through easy installment plans. Once finalized, LESCO will announce further details on how consumers can participate in the program.
