Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has officially discontinued the Wagon R, a car known for its affordability and fuel efficiency. This decision shocked many customers, as the Wagon R has been a staple for budget-conscious buyers in Pakistan.
Following this announcement, another rumor spread that Suzuki was discontinuing the Alto, Pakistan’s best-selling car. However, company officials have denied this claim. Instead, they clarified that only the base model, Alto VX, might be phased out due to its lack of essential safety features like airbags and ABS.
Moving forward, Suzuki plans to offer only upgraded variants of the Alto, which come with dual airbags, ABS, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. This shift aligns with global safety standards, ensuring better protection for passengers.
Despite the discontinuation of the Wagon R, Suzuki reassures its customers that the Alto is here to stay, with improvements to meet modern safety expectations. While the automotive market in Pakistan is evolving, the company’s decision signals a greater focus on safety rather than affordability alone
