Islamabad police have registered a fraud case against a private housing society’s manager for allegedly failing to repay Rs. 4.9 million to a citizen.
According to the complaint filed at the Secretariat Police Station, Malik Shehbaz, a resident of Rawalpindi, accused Muhammad Arshad, the society’s manager, of financial deception.
Shehbaz claimed Arshad, who had personal ties with him, sought financial assistance, citing the society’s financial troubles.
Arshad reportedly persuaded Shehbaz to arrange an event at a private hotel on Murree Road, Islamabad, assuring him that the amount spent would be reimbursed soon. Following this, Shehbaz spent Rs. 4.15 million on the event and an additional Rs. 0.9 million on promotional activities.
However, despite repeated requests, the promised repayment never materialized. Shehbaz then approached the police, leading to the registration of the case. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.
