Saudi Arabia to Create 34,000 New Jobs

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has unveiled the Saudi Architecture Characters Map, an ambitious initiative introducing 19 distinct architectural styles inspired by the Kingdom’s diverse cultural and geographical heritage.

The initiative aligns with Vision 2030, emphasizing the preservation of Saudi architectural identity, urban modernization, and improved quality of life. As Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Saudi Architectural Design Guidelines, the Crown Prince highlighted that Saudi Architecture merges deep-rooted traditions with modern innovation while ensuring harmony with the natural environment.

“Saudi Architecture blends our rich heritage with contemporary design thinking. We are not only reshaping urban landscapes but also creating a balanced architectural framework that honors our past while embracing the future,” he stated.

Beyond aesthetics, Saudi Architecture is expected to drive economic growth, attracting investors and visitors, and boosting industries like tourism, hospitality, and construction. By 2030, it is projected to contribute over SR8 billion to the GDP and generate more than 34,000 direct and indirect jobs in engineering, construction, and urban development.

Flexible and Sustainable Design Approach

The architectural framework offers three typographies—traditional, transitional, and contemporary—allowing creative flexibility while maintaining authenticity. Developers will have clear guidelines that accommodate modern materials without imposing financial burdens.
