In related developments, Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) announced a significant oil and gas discovery from the Spinwam-1 Well located in the Karghar Formation of North Waziristan. According to the company’s spokesperson, the well is currently producing 20.48 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMCFD) and 117 barrels of oil daily. This marks the second successful strike from the same well.

The discovery is expected to play a crucial role in reducing the energy deficit and meeting the country’s growing energy demands.

Earlier, in July 2024, MPCL reported the successful extraction of natural gas from five wells in Sindh. The gas from the Ghazij Gas Field is now being supplied to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), further strengthening Pakistan’s energy infrastructure.
