Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) has slashed the cost of AMI bi-directional meters used in solar systems by Rs. 10,000, according to a report by 24News.
The new price of these meters has been set at Rs. 42,000. Previously, LESCO was issuing demand notices for Rs. 52,000. The revised price includes other associated charges, such as those related to stores.
The move follows LESCO’s decision in November last year to ban green bi-directional meters. Since then, consumers have been issued demand notices for AMI bi-directional meters instead.
This price reduction is expected to provide some relief to solar users in the region.
