Change in Civil Servant Promotion Policy Approved

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has approved an amendment to the civil servant promotion policy.

Now, government employees on deputation can be promoted with their consent. If promoted while on deputation, the officer must return to their original department. Their seniority will not be affected by the time spent on deputation.

In a related development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently addressed the passing out ceremony of probationary officers of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS). He urged civil servants to serve the nation with dedication and expressed confidence in their ability to help steer the country through its current challenges.

The prime minister reminded the new officers that they would face pressing issues such as unemployment, poverty, disease, lack of education, and delayed public service responses in their careers.
