Punjab University Bus Reportedly Kills Elderly Man

Two separate road accidents in Lahore on Friday left two people dead and two critically injured, as reported by 24News. Both incidents involved speeding buses that hit motorcycles in Gulberg and Gulshan-e-Ravi areas, raising fresh concerns over road safety and traffic enforcement in the city.

Gulberg Tragedy: Grandfather Dies, Granddaughter Injured

In the first accident in Gulberg, a 66-year-old man identified as Saleem Hussain was riding his motorcycle with his granddaughter when a Punjab University bus hit them from behind. Saleem died on the spot, while his granddaughter was seriously injured.

According to 24News, the grandfather took the child to school when the accident occurred. The bus driver fled the scene before authorities arrived. Police and Rescue 1122 teams reached the area shortly after and transported the victim’s body and the injured girl to a hospital. An investigation is ongoing.

Moon Market Crash: Youth Killed, Companion Injured

The second accident occurred near Moon Market in the Gulshan-e-Ravi area. A bus hit two young men on a motorcycle, killing one instantly and leaving the other seriously injured. Eyewitnesses reported that although the accident happened near the local police station, officers failed to respond promptly.

As in the earlier case, the bus driver fled the scene. Police later took custody of the vehicle and moved the deceased to the hospital mortuary. Authorities are now using CCTV footage to identify both the victims and the drivers responsible.

Police Investigate as Citizens Demand Action

Lahore police have formed multiple teams to track down the culprits. Efforts are also being made to identify the injured and deceased individuals using surveillance footage and public records.

According to 24News, both incidents have intensified public concern over the reckless driving of public transport vehicles and the lack of timely police intervention.
