The confusion surrounding “Mehran 2025” has taken a new turn. After Pak Suzuki Mian Channu Motors officially denied any plans for a Mehran revival, new findings suggest that the car shown in the viral videos is the Suzuki Xbee, not a redesigned Mehran.
The AI-generated videos, widely shared on social media, featured the Suzuki Xbee (pronounced “Crossbee”). The Xbee is a compact crossover sold in Japan, known for its modern design and compact dimensions, resembling a kei car’s profile. However, it differs entirely from Mehran, which Suzuki discontinued in 2019.
Automotive enthusiasts quickly pointed out the similarities after a closer look at the vehicle’s grille, headlights, and body shape, all of which match the Suzuki Xbee’s design rather than any older Mehran variant.
The false narrative around a “new Mehran” gained momentum due to AI-edited videos that showed the Suzuki Xbee with “Mehran 2025” badges. People widely shared these videos without verification, leading many to believe that Suzuki was planning to bring back one of Pakistan’s most affordable hatchbacks.
In reality, the Xbee offers hybrid powertrain options, modern safety features, and a design built for urban environments, making it a far cry from the simplicity that defined the original Mehran.
Pak Suzuki has reiterated its earlier statement: there are no plans to reintroduce the Mehran, either under the original name or in any new form. Company representatives have also cautioned customers to rely only on official announcements for any news regarding future product launches.
The widespread excitement over the return of the Mehran reflects the model’s deep emotional connection with Pakistani drivers. However, the videos were misleading, and the car shown was not a new Mehran but the Suzuki Xbee from the Japanese domestic market.
