India Stops Sikh Pilgrims From Visiting Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara

The Kartarpur Corridor, located at Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district, was temporarily closed on Wednesday, halting the movement of pilgrims planning to visit the Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan.

The closure comes in the wake of recent military operations by Indian forces targeting alleged militant camps across the border in Pakistan.

According to Batala Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sohail Qasim Mir, nearly 500 pilgrims had registered for the pilgrimage that morning. Of them, around 100 had already arrived at the corridor to cross into Pakistan but were informed of the closure and requested to return home.

Authorities have not announced how long the suspension will last, but security concerns prompted the immediate halt of cross-border pilgrim movement.
