Cambridge Cancels All Exams in All of Punjab, Islamabad and Other Cities

Cambridge International Education, in coordination with the British Council and local authorities, has announced the cancellation of all Cambridge O Level, IGCSE, and International AS & A Level exams scheduled for Friday, May 9, in specific regions of Pakistan.

The affected areas include Punjab province, Islamabad Capital Territory, Muzaffarabad, and Mirpur. The decision was made in light of the prevailing security situation, with student and staff safety cited as the highest priority.

This cancellation applies specifically to exams scheduled on May 9 for all Cambridge Direct and British Council schools operating in the mentioned areas. Regarding the exams slated for Monday, May 12, the organization stated that schools will receive further guidance by the evening of Sunday, May 11.

Meanwhile, exams scheduled for other regions in Pakistan on May 9 are expected to proceed as planned, provided there is no deterioration in the security environment. Cambridge confirmed that they will continue monitoring the situation and communicate any updates as necessary.

To ensure students are not academically disadvantaged, Cambridge noted that established assessment processes will be used to award fair grades in regions where exams are cancelled.
