Public and Private Schools, Colleges and Universities Closed in Islamabad

The Islamabad district magistrate’s office has issued a notice regarding all public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the capital. According to the notice, all public and private academic facilities in Islamabad will be closed on May 9th and 10th due to the ongoing security concerns amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

The closure notice has been shared with key officials, including the Chief Commissioner, police authorities, and education departments, to ensure smooth coordination and implementation.

The decision comes as part of broader precautionary measures taken by the government to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff during this sensitive period.

Similar steps have been taken across Punjab, where all schools and colleges were closed on the same dates, and Punjab University postponed all examinations scheduled for May 9th and 10th. The Punjab Higher Education Department had earlier directed the postponement of all written and practical exams at Punjab University, with new dates to be announced later.

Despite the closure of educational institutions in Islamabad, the District Magistrate’s office has clarified that all internal and external examinations, including international exams such as O-Level and A-Level assessments, will proceed as scheduled on May 9th and 10th.

Students appearing for these exams are advised to attend without disruption and stay in contact with their respective examination boards for any updates.
