Here Are the Prices of Indian Drones That Pakistan Destroyed

Pakistan’s military has announced it successfully shot down 35 Israeli-manufactured Harop drones used by India.

According to official estimates, the destroyed drones were worth around US$24.5 million — approximately Rs. 6.9 billion — with each Harop drone costing about US$700,000 (Rs. 197.4 million).

These drones are classified as “loitering munitions” or “suicide drones,” designed to crash into and destroy their targets in a single-use attack.

Developed by Israel Aerospace Industries, Harop drones are equipped with advanced sensors, AI-powered targeting, and high-precision capabilities. They are primarily used to eliminate enemy air defenses without endangering pilots.

The drones can hover over an area for hours, identifying targets with image recognition software before executing a strike. The Harop has been part of India’s arsenal since 2009. In 2019, India expanded its fleet, bringing the total number of Harop drones in its inventory to over 160.

The recent downing of these drones has added to growing international scrutiny of drone warfare, especially as civilian casualties rise globally. Pakistan’s action also highlights the increasing use of unmanned combat systems in South Asian conflicts.
