Remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis increased by 13 percent year-on-year (YoY) to $3.18 billion during April 2025 compared to $2.81 billion during April 2024, according to latest data by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The April 2025 inflows also pushed the remittances for 10MFY25 to over $31 billion, a record number for the 10-month period.
On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, remittances were down by 22 percent in April 2025 compared to inflows of 4.05 billion reported in March 2025.
A breakdown of the numbers shows that the highest inflows were registered from Saudi Arabia, coming in at $725 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at $658 million, the United Kingdom (UK) at $535 million, European Union (EU) countries at $412 million, and the United States (US) at $302 million.
In 10MFY25, remittances increased by 31 percent YoY to $31.21 billion compared to inflows of $23.85 billion reported in 10MFY24.
