PMDC Relaxes Admission Criteria for MBBS

Students with second division marks can now pursue a career in medicine, as the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has eased the admission requirements for MBBS programs, according to a report by 24News channel on Wednesday.

The move aims to prevent seat vacancies in private medical colleges, which have faced challenges filling admissions.

Under the revised criteria, candidates with at least 50% marks are eligible for MBBS, while 45% marks are sufficient for BDS admissions.

Applicants with even lower scores may be considered for admission if seats remain unfilled in private medical and dental institutions.

This is a one-time relaxation of the eligibility criteria, specifically for private colleges, by the PMDC.
