Sindh’s Education Minister, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, announced on Friday a major initiative to fully digitize the province’s education system, according to ARY News.
As part of this move, a new school monitoring mobile app is being rolled out to improve transparency and accountability in schools. The app will allow teachers to record their attendance via mobile phones, but only while physically present on school premises.
To further enhance classroom monitoring, educators will also be required to upload photos of students in attendance. The app is equipped with facial recognition technology, which will automatically identify and count students present during class.
In a related development, the verification process for matriculation and intermediate certificates in Sindh is being moved entirely online. A recent directive issued by the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) states that physical submissions of sealed certificate envelopes for verification will no longer be accepted.
Instead, all certificate verification will now be processed through an online system. The IBCC has also mandated that all educational boards in Sindh integrate their systems with the central IBCC platform to ensure a smooth and unified verification process.
