The Pakistan Super League (PSL) will observe Pink Day on Monday, 19 May, during the 30th fixture of PSL X between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, in support of the fight against breast cancer.
As part of its corporate social responsibility, the PSL is partnering with the Pink Ribbon campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. The initiative follows the league’s earlier observance of Childhood Cancer Awareness Day on 3 May.
For the Pink Day fixture, Islamabad United will wear special pink-themed kits, while Karachi Kings and match officials will don pink caps. All players, officials, coaching staff, and commentators will wear pink ribbons throughout the match. The stumps will be branded pink, and breast cancer awareness messages will be displayed on digital screens and LED boards around the stadium. Commentators will also share key messages about breast cancer awareness during the live broadcast.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer emphasized the league’s commitment to health causes, stating, “The PSL has always performed its duty of care by creating awareness about health-related issues and supporting noble causes. Breast cancer affects many lives, and it’s essential to prioritize early detection and support those affected.”
Prominent figures from cricket and entertainment, including Pakistan women’s captain Fatima Sana, presenter Zainab Abbas, and Multan Sultans’ Alex Hartley, have also voiced their support for the campaign, encouraging fans to join the cause.
In collaboration with Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, and Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital (DHQ), every ticket for the 19 May match will serve as a voucher for a free breast cancer examination and screening.
Fans attending the match are encouraged to wear pink to show their support for breast cancer awareness.
