A tragic house fire in the early hours of Saturday morning claimed the lives of four members of a British family of Pakistani origin in the northwest London borough of Brent, according to British media reports.
Emergency responders were called to a residential property on Tillett Close in Stonebridge at approximately 1:22am, where a devastating blaze had engulfed the home.
Despite rapid response efforts, a 43-year-old woman, a 15-year-old girl, an eight-year-old boy, and a four-year-old boy were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have confirmed that the fire is being treated as a potential arson attack. A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident. However, officials have not yet released further details about the suspect as the investigation remains ongoing.
Two other individuals — a 70-year-old woman and a young girl — were rescued from the burning residence and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current medical condition has not been disclosed.
The victims’ next of kin have been notified, and police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as they piece together the circumstances surrounding the fire.
According to reports, the affected family had settled in the United Kingdom from Pakistan nearly 20 years ago.
