Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has reinstated direct flights between Dubai and Skardu, with service starting Friday, May 30, 2025. The launch is aimed at promoting tourism to Pakistan’s scenic north and improving travel connectivity with the UAE.
A cake-cutting ceremony was held at PIA’s Dubai office to mark the occasion. Consul General H.E. Hussain Muhammad attended the event, along with a group of international tourists booked on the inaugural flight. PIA officials said the move highlights growing interest in Skardu among foreign travellers.
Regional Manager Sarmad Aizaz and his team hosted the event, calling the new route a step toward enhancing bilateral people-to-people connections.
The Dubai-Skardu service is part of a broader expansion plan. PIA has also announced the launch of direct weekly flights from Lahore to Paris, scheduled to commence on June 18. The airline already operates two weekly flights from Islamabad to the French capital.
According to the airline, the new international routes are expected to improve passenger convenience and contribute to foreign exchange earnings for Pakistan.
