The Punjab government has decided to change the uniform of the traffic police for the first time since 2006, following a similar update for the Punjab Police in 2017.
City42, quoting sources within the police department, revealed that a khaki-colored uniform has been proposed for traffic officers. The new color has been chosen keeping in mind the province’s diverse weather conditions and the need for practicality throughout the year.
A proposed design of the new uniform has also been circulated, giving a glimpse of what officers may soon be wearing on duty.
The Inspector General of Punjab Police has sent a summary to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for final approval. Once the proposal is approved, the process of implementing the new uniform will begin.
