Morocco Announces Scholarships for Pakistani Students

The Kingdom of Morocco has announced 10 fully funded scholarships for Pakistani students for the 2025–26 academic session, allowing them to pursue higher education at public universities and institutions in Morocco. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan made the announcement, according to a report by ARY News.

These scholarships are available to Pakistani and AJK nationals in a variety of disciplines, including Medicine, Engineering, Management Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Architecture, and others. Opportunities are offered for undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs, subject to meeting specific eligibility requirements such as academic background and age.

The online application deadline is Thursday, 12 June 2025, at 4:00 PM PST.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be Pakistani or AJK nationals and must not hold dual nationality.
  • For undergraduate programs, candidates must have completed at least 12 years of education (FSc/A-level) and be no older than 23.
  • Master’s applicants should have 16 years of education, and PhD aspirants must have 18 years of relevant education.
  • A valid HAT or USAT score is required, depending on the level of the program. Shortlisting will be based on test results.

Language Requirements:

Since French is the primary language of instruction in most Moroccan institutions, especially for science, technology, and economics, selected students will undergo a French language orientation course during 2024–25, possibly at centers such as Alliance Française in Pakistan.

Applicants aiming for degrees in Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, or related fields must already have proficiency in Arabic, as those programs are taught in that language.

Application Process:

Interested students must apply online at: scholarship.hec.gov.pk under the “Moroccan Govt Scholarship Program.”

Hard copies of documents are not required at the initial stage. However, shortlisted applicants will need to submit relevant documents, including:

  • Academic transcripts
  • Statement of purpose
  • Recommendation letters
  • Medical certificate
  • Police clearance
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) if currently employed

Important Advisory:

Applicants interested in professional degrees (Medicine, Engineering, Law, etc.) must ensure that their chosen foreign programs are recognized by Pakistani professional councils, such as:

  • Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC)
  • Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC)
  • Pakistan Bar Council (PBC)

PMDC has also issued special guidelines regarding admissions in foreign medical institutions, which students must review before applying.

This initiative provides a valuable opportunity for Pakistani students to gain international academic exposure while representing Pakistan abroad.
