Frozen Food, Cold Drinks, Noodles, Ice Cream and Biscuits to Become Expensive in Budget

The upcoming federal budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year is set to include proposals for new excise duties on several food items and services.

Frozen foods, chips, cold drinks, noodles, ice cream, and biscuits are among the items likely to be taxed. A 5% excise duty is also being considered for frozen meat, sauces, and ready-made foods.
