Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has greenlit a 10% increase in salaries of government employees.
Initially, the government had settled on a more modest 6% salary bump, but after a chorus of discontent from employees.
The revised 10% increase will take effect from next month, offering some relief to employees struggling to keep up with rising living costs.
Meanwhile, the government has also approved a 7% increase in pensions.
