All Train Passengers Can Now Access Business Class Waiting Areas

Federal Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, has instructed that the Business Class waiting lounge at Quetta Railway Station be made accessible to all passengers, regardless of their ticket class, in a move aimed at enhancing inclusivity and passenger comfort.

The directive came during Minister Abbasi’s comprehensive visit to Quetta Railway Station on Thursday, where he was accompanied by Senator Ahmad Khan Khilji. During the visit, the minister interacted with passengers aboard the Jaffar Express heading to Peshawar, listened to their feedback, and assured them of ongoing efforts to improve railway services.

Imran Hayat Khan, the Divisional Superintendent (DS) of Quetta Railways, provided the minister with an overview of current development projects and infrastructure upgrades at the station.

As part of the visit, Minister Abbasi inaugurated a new control room overseeing a recently installed system of 29 advanced CCTV cameras, aimed at boosting station security. He also opened a newly constructed gym facility at the Railway Officers Club.

In his remarks, the minister reiterated Pakistan Railways’ commitment to enhancing service quality and ensuring a better travel experience for all passengers. He commended the performance of DS Imran Hayat Khan and his team, describing the Quetta station as a model of efficient management and passenger service.

Additionally, Minister Abbasi presented a cheque of Rs5 million to the mother of Constable Faisal, who lost his life in a recent terrorist incident in Machh. Offering his condolences, the minister reaffirmed the government’s support for the families of those who make the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
