Huawei has expanded its flagship lineup with the introduction of the Pura 80 series, which brings notable advancements in camera technology, processing power, battery life, and connectivity. The series includes the Pura 80, Pura 80 Pro, and Pura 80 Pro+, each offering a distinct set of features while sharing a focus on premium hardware and innovative communication capabilities.
Design and Display
The Huawei Pura 80 features a flat 6.6-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1,256 x 2,760 pixels. The Pro and Pro+ models are equipped with larger 6.8-inch LTPO OLED displays, both protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass. All models support a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 10-bit color depth, ensuring smooth visuals and vibrant color reproduction. Internals and Software
Huawei has not disclosed the specific chipsets powering the Pura 80 series, but claims that the Ark Engine in the Pro and Pro+ models delivers a 36% performance boost over previous generations. The Pura 80 and Pura 80 Pro come with 12GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. The Pro+ model offers 16GB of RAM and is available with either 512GB or 1TB of storage. The vanilla model features a USB 2.0 port, while the Pro and Pro+ are equipped with USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports. All models run on Huawei’s latest software platform, with enhanced AI features and improved system efficiency.
Camera
The camera systems are a highlight of the Pura 80 series. The Pura 80 is equipped with a 50MP main camera featuring a variable f/1.4–f/4.0 aperture and OIS, a 12MP periscope telephoto lens with 5.5x optical zoom, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 1.5MP multi-channel spectrum sensor. The Pura 80 Pro and Pro+ upgrade to a 1-inch 50MP main sensor with a variable f/1.6–f/4.0 aperture and OIS. Their telephoto cameras feature a 48MP sensor with 4x optical zoom, a wider f/2.1 aperture, and tele-macro capabilities. The ultra-wide camera is also enhanced to 40MP. All models include a 13MP ultra-wide selfie camera with autofocus.
Battery and Pricing
The Pura 80 is powered by a 5,600mAh battery with support for 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. The Pro and Pro+ models feature slightly larger 5,700mAh batteries, with faster 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
The Huawei Pura 80 Pro and Pro+ are now available in China, with the Pura 80 Pro priced at USD 905 for the 12GB/256GB variant, USD 975 for the 12GB/512GB model, and USD 1,115 for the 12GB/1TB version. The Pura 80 Pro+ is offered at USD 1,115 for the 12GB/512GB configuration and USD 1,250 for the 12GB/1TB model. The standard Pura 80 is not yet available.
