KP Likely to Increase Salaries by 10%

Similar to the federal government, both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab are likely to increase salaries of government employees by 10% and pensions by 7%.

According to sources, KP’s upcoming budget is expected to be around Rs2.07 trillion. Out of this, Rs1.352 trillion may be allocated for current expenditures, Rs680 billion for salaries, and Rs200 billion for pensions. Additionally, the KP government is expected to receive approximately Rs1.148 trillion through the National Finance Commission (NFC) award.

In Punjab, a 10% salary increase for government employees is also anticipated.

Punjab’s budget, scheduled to be presented on June 16, is likely to include an additional Rs110 billion for the education sector. Sources also indicated that no new taxes are expected in the provincial budget. Furthermore, an additional Rs90 billion may be allocated for healthcare, and proposals have been made to provide extra funding to farmers for wheat and rice seeds as well as fertilizers.
