PMDC Changes MDCAT Syllabus

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has released the updated syllabus for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025, according to a report by 24NewsHD TV. The revised syllabus is now available on the PMDC’s official website.

The MDCAT exam is tentatively scheduled to take place either in the final week of September or the first week of October this year.

The updated test will cover five key subjects: English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Logical Reasoning. The exam will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and will last three hours. Notably, the test will carry no negative marking.

To qualify for admission into a medical college, applicants must score at least 55%, while a minimum of 50% is required for entry into dental colleges.

The PMDC developed the new syllabus in consultation with academic professionals, examination boards, and universities. PMDC President stated that the revised syllabus aims to uphold merit-based admissions and ensure greater transparency in the selection process.

Aspiring candidates are encouraged to visit the PMDC website regularly for the latest information and updates.
