Iran Launches Retaliatory Strikes Against Israel

Iran has launched more than 100 drones towards Israel in response to airstrikes that hit key nuclear and military targets, including the uranium enrichment facility at Natanz and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) headquarters in Tehran, Israeli media agencies reported on Friday.

Iranian officials have yet to confirm this. Tehran has also yet to confirm if Mossad led sabotage operations inside Iran to disable missile and air defence infrastructure at the time of Israel’s surprise attack..

So far, Israel has declared a state of emergency and closed the Ben Gurion Airport. It has placed its air defence systems on high alert.

In the meantime, Iranian state TV reported the death of IRGC chief Major General Hossein Salami in the strike on the main Tehran headquarters. Explosions were reported at Natanz and multiple other locations. Civilian casualties were also reported, including several children killed in a residential area of the capital.
