Billions of Rupees Allocated for Several Road Projects in Rawalpindi

In a significant move aimed at accelerating development in Rawalpindi district, the Chairman of the District Coordination Committee, Engineer Qamar ul Islam Raja MNA, announced the approval of major development funds as part of the Punjab Government’s annual development plan.

The funds, worth billions of rupees, will support a variety of projects across Rawalpindi, including those within the NA-53 constituency.

The Budget for 2025-26, set to be presented in the Punjab Assembly on Monday, June 16, includes a key allocation for the much-anticipated Rawalpindi Ring Road project. Engineer Raja confirmed that the long-delayed sum of Rs. 9.0 billion has been secured, and funds will be released immediately to expedite the project and foster regional development.

The Punjab Government has also approved Rs. 2.3 billion for the dualization of the Gorakhpur-Khasala Khurad Road and Rs. 1.7 billion for the construction of the Tulsah Morr Adiala Road Underpass. These projects aim to ease traffic congestion and reduce travel time between Adiala Road and Chontra areas.

In addition, a substantial Rs. 3.5 billion has been allocated for the construction of the Khawaja Corporation Flyover and Underpass, which will significantly enhance connectivity in the region.

Several other infrastructure projects have also received approval, including Rs. 2.0 crore for the Choora Sharif to Malukal Road and Rs. 15.0 crore for the Dhok Budhal to Sukho Road, which will directly link Rawat with Chakwal Road.
