The capital city experienced a scorching day on Friday, with a “feels like” temperature of 49°C due to extreme heat and humidity.
According to details, the actual temperature in Islamabad remained lower at 39°C, but rising humidity levels caused the heat index to soar, making conditions more intense and potentially dangerous for outdoor activity.
The PMD also forecast rainfall across several parts of the country starting today, including Islamabad. The expected showers are likely to bring relief from the ongoing heatwave gripping the region.
Residents have been advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours, and monitor weather updates for further alerts.
The forecast comes as multiple regions across Pakistan continue to report record-high temperatures this summer.
