Date Announced for Opening of Escalators at Major Railway Station

Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi conducted an official visit to Lahore Railway Station and Mughalpura Carriage Shop on Friday to assess ongoing improvement efforts.

During his visit to the railway station, the minister reviewed the progress of the new escalator installation, directing officials to ensure it is fully operational and available for passenger use by June 25. He also evaluated cleanliness conditions and the quality of food being served at the station, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high service standards.

Speaking to the media, Abbasi reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing facilities for passengers, noting that further upgrades are in the pipeline.

Later, at the Mughalpura Carriage Shop, the minister inspected newly delivered air-conditioning units designated for passenger coaches. He emphasized that all amenities included in tickets must be provided without compromise and instructed railway officials to expedite the installation of AC units to enhance passenger comfort, particularly during the summer season.

Pakistan Railways CEO Aamir Ali Baloch accompanied the minister during the inspection.
