Multiple cities in Pakistan faced extreme heat stress on Saturday as feels-like temperatures soared past 50°C, triggering serious health warnings from authorities.
According to data released by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the highest feels-like temperature was recorded in Jacobabad at a scorching 60°C, followed closely by Dadu at 59.7°C and Sibbi at 56.6°C.
These cities fall under the “Extreme Danger” category, where heat stroke is considered imminent due to dangerously high heat index values.
The PMD’s heat index advisory warns that conditions in these areas pose a severe risk for heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke, especially with continued outdoor activity.
