Multiple cities in Pakistan faced extreme heat stress on Saturday as feels-like temperatures soared past 50°C, triggering serious health warnings from authorities.
According to data released by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the highest feels-like temperature was recorded in Jacobabad at a scorching 60°C, followed closely by Dadu at 59.7°C and Sibbi at 56.6°C.
These cities fall under the “Extreme Danger” category, where heat stroke is considered imminent due to dangerously high heat index values.
Cities With Feels-Like Temperatures Above 50°C:
- Jacobabad: 60°C
- Dadu: 59.7°C
- Sibbi: 56.6°C
- Dera Ghazi Khan: 55.8°C
- Multan: 54.8°C
- Bahawalpur: 53.7°C
- Dera Ismail Khan: 51°C
The PMD’s heat index advisory warns that conditions in these areas pose a severe risk for heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke, especially with continued outdoor activity.
