Turkish Airline Flight Grounded in Karachi After Bird Strike

A foreign aircraft was grounded in Karachi after it collided with a bird during takeoff, according to airport authorities.

The incident involved a Turkish Airlines Airbus, which struck a bird while departing from the runway. Following the impact, the pilot immediately aborted the takeoff and steered the aircraft safely onto the taxiway.

During the inspection, bird feathers were found in the aircraft’s engine, prompting authorities to ground the plane for safety reasons. The flight’s departure was rescheduled for 9:00 PM, officials confirmed.

Airport officials added that bird activity increases after rainfall due to a surge in insects and bugs around the premises, which attract birds. However, additional bird control staff had already been deployed in the funnel area before the rain to mitigate such risks.
