Fake Intelligence Officer and Security Guards Arrested With Weapons and Cash

Police in Hyderabad have arrested a man impersonating an officer of a sensitive intelligence agency, seizing weapons, sensitive documents, and large sums of cash in an operation in Latifabad, Unit No 6.

The suspect, identified as Danish Iqbal, was apprehended while traveling in two vehicles with five armed private guards. Acting on credible intelligence, Section B Police intercepted the convoy and conducted a thorough search.

Authorities recovered a fake ID card of a sensitive agency, an entry pass for Quetta Garrison, documents for luxury vehicles, four high-end mobile phones, Rs 1.3 million in cash, fake currency worth Rs 250,000, and multiple cheques from various banks. The police also seized two 30-bore pistols, two Kalashnikov rifles, and a 12-bore shotgun.

Investigations revealed that Danish Iqbal was running a fraud operation, deceiving people with false promises of employment and agency-level favours. Police sources confirmed that Iqbal is a repeat offender, having previously been arrested in 2021 by the Cantonment Police Station for a similar scam.

Danish Iqbal and his guards are now in custody. Police have launched a broader investigation to identify additional accomplices and victims of the fraud.
