Govt Forms Committee to Regularize Federal Employees and Contract-Based Workers

The federal government has formed a high-level committee under the Petroleum Minister for the regularization of federal government employees.

According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, it has been decided to initiate a comprehensive and transparent regularization process for all eligible federal Government Employees, including Daily wage staff, Contingent Paid Workers, Contract Employees, and Employees under the PM Medical Board/Invalidation Policy.

In this regard, the Prime Minister has nominated and authorized Ali Pervaiz Malik as the Competent Authority to supervise, review, and decide matters pertaining to the regularization of Federal Government Employees, in consultation with all relevant Ministries, Divisions, and stakeholders.

A Central Committee is hereby constituted under the chairmanship of Ali Parvaiz Malik, comprising representatives from the Establishment Division, Finance Division, and Law & Justice Division.

The Committee shall review cases of eligible employees across all Federal entities, including ensuring compliance with Civil Servants (Appointment, Promotion & Transfer) Rules, 1973, recommend regularization in cases meeting criteria, and ensure the process is merit-based, transparent, and time-bound.

All Federal Ministries/Divisions/Attached Departments/Autonomous Bodies are directed to fully cooperate with the Committee and submit verified lists of eligible employees within fifteen (15) working days.

The Establishment Division shall serve as the Secretariat of the Committee, and progress reports will be submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office on a fortnightly basis.

This directive may be treated as a matter of national administrative priority, and non-compliance will be viewed seriously.
