Justice Rozi Khan Takes Oath as Chief Justice of BHC

Justice Rozi Khan Barrech on Tuesday was sworn in as the regular Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court (BHC) in an oath-taking ceremony held at the Governor House.

Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, administered the oath of office of Chief Justice Balochistan High Court to Justice Rozi Khan.

The ceremony was attended by Balochistan Chief Minister, Sarfraz Bugti, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Provincial Ministers, Members of Balochistan Assembly, and prominent political and judicial figures.

Earlier, Justice Rozi Khan has been performing as Acting CJ of BHC.

Justice Rozi Khan Barrech, the son of Mehrban Khan, was born on March 7, 1964, in Quetta. He completed his matriculation in 1984, followed by his intermediate education in 1986. He graduated in 1988 and earned his LLB from the University Law College, Quetta, in 1990. The following year, he obtained his Master’s degree.

He began his judicial career in 1998 when he was appointed as an Additional District and Sessions Judge in Balochistan. Over the years, he served in various districts across the province, holding key positions such as Additional District and Sessions Judge, District and Sessions Judge, Special Judge, and District and Sessions Judge Inspection.

On November 4, 2016, he assumed the role of Registrar at the High Court of Balochistan. Justice Barrech was elevated to the position of Additional Judge of the High Court of Balochistan on May 31, 2019, and was confirmed as a permanent judge of the court on May 7, 2021.
