AKD Group Acquires 27.95% Stake in PC Hotels Operator

AKD Group Holding (Private) Limited has formally disclosed the acquisition of a significant 27.95 percent stake in Pakistan Services Limited (PSX: PSEL), according to a stock filing made by PSEL at the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The disclosure, made under Section 110 of the Securities Act, 2015 and regulation 4(2) of the Listed Companies (Substantial Acquisition of Voting Shares and Takeovers) Regulations, 2017, was submitted through a letter dated July 15, 2025.

AKD Group Holding, formerly known as Aqeel Karim Dhedhi Securities (Private) Limited, notified PSEL of the acquisition, prompting PSEL to release the information in compliance with regulatory requirements under Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015 and PSX Rule Book Clause 5.6.1(a).

PSEL is principally engaged in the hotel business and owns and manages the chain of Pearl Continental Hotels. The Company also owns one small small-sized property in Lahore operating under the budget hotel concept. The Company also grants a franchise to use its trademark and name “Pearl Continental”.
