Punjab Wildlife Department Seizes Illegally Kept Lion in Rawalpindi

The Punjab Wildlife Department has confiscated a lion that was being unlawfully transported in a vehicle in Rawalpindi, according to a report by ARY News on Monday.

Wildlife officials stated that the animal was discovered on Chak Beli Road during an inspection. The lion’s owner, identified as Fakhar Abbas, failed to provide a valid license or any legal documentation permitting him to keep or transport the wild animal.

After verifying the situation, authorities confirmed that no permits had been issued for the possession or movement of the lion. As a result, a fine of Rs 60,000 was levied against the owner for violating wildlife regulations.

Officials confirmed that the animal has since been relocated to a secure location, where it will receive proper care and protection.
