FIRs Filed Against Three Illegal Housing Societies in Rawalpindi

Acting on the directives of Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Kinza Murtaza, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate has served a notice to the management of Faisal Town Block B1 in Mouza Bajnial, Tehsil and District Rawalpindi, for operating an unapproved housing scheme.

The notice identifies multiple violations, including the sale of plots without obtaining official approval, misrepresentation of the NOC status, and misleading buyers through false advertisements on social media. The scheme was found to be in clear breach of the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976 (Amended 2014) and the Private Housing Schemes Rules, 2021.

In addition, the RDA has filed First Information Reports (FIRs) against three other housing projects: Al-Khan Enclave, Faisal Hills in Taxila, and Abdullah City located at Mouza Rajar, Chakri Road, Rawalpindi. These cases were registered after developers allegedly expanded construction beyond approved limits, promoted unauthorized advertising, and engaged in illegal bookings and sales.

Despite multiple warnings, the developers did not comply with RDA regulations, continuing activities prohibited under Section 34 (1)-B of the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976—offenses considered fraudulent and punishable under the law.

DG RDA Kinza Murtaza once again urged citizens to exercise caution before investing in any housing projects. She advised the public to verify all details through the RDA’s official website or visit the Business Facilitation Center (BFC) to protect their investments from fraudulent schemes.
