Redmi is preparing to announce the Redmi Note 17 series this month, and an alleged promotional poster has emerged claiming to provide the first “official” look at the Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro.
However, the image seems fake and AI-generated because the standard Note 17 is shown to have only one rear camera accompanied by two separate flashlights, an unusual arrangement that does not match Xiaomi’s typical smartphone designs.
Base Redmi Note phones always include at least two rear cameras and only a single flash unit. Have a look for yourself at the image below and pay attention to the camera on the phone on the left. It makes no sense.
Redmi has confirmed that the Note 17 generation will launch in China in July, but it has not released official images or detailed specifications for the phones. The leak claims to have grabbed official promotional images.
The Note 17 Pro looks more believable, with two rear cameras and a separate flash inside a rectangular camera island. But the phone on the left still ruins the legitimacy of the whole image. It should not be treated as an official representation of the phones until Redmi releases its own promotional material.
Reports suggest the complete range could include the Redmi Note 17R, Note 17, Note 17 Pro, and Note 17 Pro Max. The Note 17R may be a global version of the Redmi 17 5G, although Xiaomi has not confirmed that relationship.
The company has also reportedly skipped the Redmi Note 16 name and moved directly from the Note 15 generation to the Note 17 series.
The Redmi Note 17 is rumoured to feature a 6.83-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution.
The Note 17 Pro is also expected to use a flat 1.5K OLED screen, although its exact size remains unclear. Both phones could include dual speakers and water-resistant bodies.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is similarly tipped to feature a flat OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the display specifications or water-resistance ratings of any model.
The standard Redmi Note 17 could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset.
Meanwhile, the Note 17 Pro is expected to use the more powerful Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. The Note 17 Pro Max may instead feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 7500 processor.
The phones are also expected to run Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3.1 interface. Their RAM and storage configurations have not yet been revealed.
All of these details remain based on leaks and should be treated cautiously until Redmi confirms them.
Recent reports suggest both the Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro will feature 50MP primary cameras. The Note 17 Pro Max is expected to receive the biggest photography upgrade in the series, with a rumoured 200MP main camera.
The Redmi Note 17 is expected to support 67W wired charging, but its battery capacity remains unknown.
The Note 17 Pro could feature a massive 9,000 mAh battery, while the Note 17 Pro Max may feature a 10,100 mAh battery. Reports also suggest that the two higher-end models could support 100W charging.
Redmi is expected to introduce at least some Note 17 models in China during July. The Note 17 Pro Max may arrive separately in August.
The company has not announced pricing, storage options, or exact release dates. Until official renders appear, the newly circulated poster should be viewed as an unverified image rather than a confirmed first look at the Redmi Note 17 series.
